I really would like to see this car.

Do you know how many car exist? Do you know if there is other canadian cars in gold made by WRC - FLEER Huh

Thanks. Eric

My understanding is that the gold RCMP car was made by mistake by the factory and shipped to Fleer and it was never sent to the RCMP, the Mounted Police Foundation or North West Police Products (who had the License to produce 1:43rd scale cars) and somehow got distributed to the general public.  I was part of North West Police Products and have at least one of every car produced by NWPP under their license. I don't have this one though. Walt Conroy has a picture of one on his website in his Museum section. He has it listed as a 1969 Plymouth Fury, but I think it was the 1972 Plymouth. Walt's website address is   www.conroyscruisers.com
I would really like to get a hold of one to complete my collection of North West Police Products cars. If anyone has one they'd like to sell let me know.   Murray

Murray,

It is correct that the gold RCMP's were made by mistake. At the time we were doing a few gold cars for internal distribution to the PSP for their projects. Fleer, which was rather disorganized didn't know the difference between departments and had the gold RCMP's made. I never knew it until one day, not long before they folded and well after the regular cars were sold out I received the box of 10 sent to me by Fleer out of the blue. Over time, I sold them off. This was after NWPP ceased to be. If I had one I'd give it to you but they are gone. We never used the 69 Plymouth for any RCMP projects so the model identifed as such is probably incorrectly identifed. Dennis Deal

I got all the regular and special issue White Rose and Fleer cars but was never into collecting the gold plated cars since they weren't authentic prototype colors, but here's a photo that was stated to be the entire collection of gold '69 Plymouth models posted by an eBay seller a few weeks ago. It was for sale for $800.  The only plated cars I have are the Mustang and '88 Caprice that were issued by White Rose as premiums for ordering the entire sets.

Dennis,
Thanks for the update. I wasn't aware that they didn't appear until after NWPP disappeared. Sorry if I sounded like I was pointing fingers, that certainly wasn't my intent. Still would like to get one though. 8-)

Absloutely no offense taken, I was just being factual.

Also, in the photo of the gold set Dick posted there are 13 models. The series had but 12, the 13th was the New Hampshire that was only offered to individuals who bought the entire series. I was never into the gold plated cars either, those were the owners idea. Of course after WRC was sold to Fleer all the remaining inventory was liquidated so the remainder of the regualr, non-gold NHSP cars were sold making them a little more available, however it was a very low production item. There were five complete sets of the gold cars done for the Mustang, Caprice and 69 Plymouth series.

Great information from all. This is a reason why I read these boards. Been looking for a gold FHP Mustang for such a long time, that I've found that I'm really not that into FHP and PSP any longer. Now interests are centered on local agencies. But always good to get historical outlook on hobby.
