Hello Guys,

I'm back from my vacation and I've used the last free-days to make a new custom. It's a Ixo Ford CV "Arizona Highway Patrol". I've used the Ixo Montpellier model to realize that car. Here is my step by step report of how I've done that:

Step 1: "The new wheels":

This time I want build the car with the silver hub caps and not with the black rims. I used the FRR axe and the FRR rims with the Ixo tires.

The first testing shows that the wheels are very inbound - that has to be improved!!

I decided to make 1mm wheel-spacers for each wheel to get a better look:

I've used Q-tipps to do that - very simple but it works good:

And the result is very good:

Step 2 "Stripping down":

To get the old graphics of the car I've done serveral steps and used serveral materials. The first step is very easy - just put the car in some water and wait a bit. The side-graphics on that model-car are only decals!! EASY!!

The rear graphics are printed on the car - here we need some chemical power!!

To get off the writings on the window we took Mr. Color Thinner - great stuff that don't attacks clear parts!!

That is what I call a clear window!!

For the rest I took a nail lacquer remover. Note: to get a good result with no "colleteral demage" remove all parts on the rear!! It is very easy to do that and it's much easier to work with!!

Last but not lease I removed the the color of the Lightbar with Mr. CT. This time I was not 100% satisfied with the result - but next try will be better!

Step 3 detail-work and painting:

For my friend Christophe I put a police computer in the car (because my interior is often not very accurate  Wink ) Hope you like it, Chris!!

I've painted some lights on the LB's base - later the clear part is over that painting:

Painting the clear part of the LB:

After the first decals are on the car I've done the rear paintings. First step was a small stripe of black, done with a small black marker.

After that I've painted the red reflection parts with Tamiya clear color:

The pushbar was painted high gloss black and get's 2 reflection lences on the sides:

The last step after re-assambling was to put on some Antennas and GPS pods:

That was part one. The finished model you can see in part two!

Happy collecting!!

Tom
