Why do they keep making this crap? It's not like anyone custom builds these low rider police cars. Everyone that custom builds police cars makes them as accurate as possible. I hate getting excited about new releases only to these things like this come out. I guess they're good for kids but realism is what everyone is screaming for in the die-cast police car market. Don't want to offend anyone just voicing my two cents to anyone that will listen.

The answer is very simple, they are a "toy" company and make "toys".  They have nothing to do with the collector community, they don't try to make "realistic" police models, and they probably never will.  They are not in that game.  It's like getting mad at Lego for not making an accurate police car.  Toys are toys.  You can't expect them to be any better.  Wink

Originally when I started selling online I was not carrying this "crap", or Jada lowriders etc - however you must understand that Maisto and other diecast companies have a much wider audience than the collector of "true to scale" police cars. You won't find a FRR car at Walmart but certainly you will see these Maisto cars and other stuff like it, geared more towards the kids than the true collectors. When I was collecting I had all sorts of cars, realistic and not-so-realistic as well. It just depends on your taste and what you want to have.... personally I am happy to see more selection as, at least for me, it widens my customer base and provides me with more models to offer. There are still plenty of realistic models made and more in the future - in fact I just received 4 Motormax 1/24 prototypes I will post here shortly...

Jeff, you are right on.  I could give the grandkids a model and that's OK.  Give them a lowrider type and it's WOW.  Looks like I'll be getting bugged for some of these new ones.  Glenn

I guess you guys are right but I'm used to making and seeing models that are accurate in every detail, these things still bug me for though, must have had a traumatic experience with one as a kid or something.

Not at all...I love Lego!  I bought a bunch of sets this Christmas just to dump in the Toys for Tots bin.  It was fun picking them out, even though I didn't get to keep them, I picked what "I" wanted.  I only used Lego in my comment as another toy.  Grin
