Hello everyone, I recently have noticed that when i remove the wheels from 1/18 FCV's from MotorMax there seems to be some kind of Liquid between the rims and tires?? Does anyone know what this is?? I paint the rims black and leave the center cap chrome and it's making it hard to paint and leaving me with a different color on the rim when i paint them?? Thanks Tim

My guess would be sweat (yucky I know but still possible from Chinese factory assembly) or maybe condensation somehow-- I would wash and dry the wheels completely then your new paint should stick and leave the correct color.

Perhaps some kind of factory applied lubricant to make putting the tires on easier?  Possibly a mold releasing agent that was not cleaned up at the factory?  In any case, as Jeff suggested, I would simply wash the wheels and tires with soap and water and dry them completely.  I would have to believe this would cure the problem.

Any time I see a "film" of any kind where it should not be, I simply wash it off to avoid any problems.    Smiley  Cool  Smiley
