Thanks for the lead. I've wanted one of these Caddys for over a year now, but didn't want to pay the $100 plus shipping. I can display it with my Minichamp Kennedy and Johnson Lincolns, Vitesse Mercedes and Citroens, and Russian Political Limos in 1/43rd.

The Suburban is a very good replica of the real thing going by the photos. Why would these items have originally been $100? That seems very expensive. The 40 dollar price tag seems more appropriate.

Probably because these are tooled specific. It takes a bit of money to make a die for a diecast. Likely limited edition as well. Maybe the Prez is getting a little piece of the action LOL !
Hopefully next will be the Sarah Palin Pickup Truck & Camper complete with shotgun rack and Moose antlers on the hood with an Alaska State Trooper motorcade !

I would like to see the Chevy SUV offered in white or silver. I passed at this time as the SUV is sort of costly, and would rather wait on Dennis to offer his SUV at a substantially better price. But the Caddy is a real deal, as said earlier, its a specific vehicle. Thanks again for the lead.
PS: Ed sent me a link, so I did purchase one of the silver SUVs for $29 off the ebay. Just to check out the quality. I won 2G's last Saturday at Hard Rock Casino (on a nickle machine no less), so I have some play money.
PSS: Sarah was down the other day, but I told her she couldn't see Cuba, even from my roof. So she shot my Collie, telling me she assumed it was a Florida Moose?

The Suburban DOES come in solid colors, white, silver and black metallic. I have a silver one I bought on ebay just to see the quality, I think I paid about $35-40 which is WAY TOO MUCH. These should sell at about $20-25 tops. They do have a website, a really crappy one, where they list their models at, get this, $69.99 each! They must think they are made of gold... These are licensed models but come on, the price is way out of hand. I contacted the manufacturer to buy some of these for resale, but they wanted me to take 1,000 models per color - some funky business practices going on somewhere--- guess we all just have to wait for the Tahoe from FRR...

i spoke to these people about 3 or 4 months ago when i first saw these on the internet. just to see about becoming a dealer and doing local depts to sell and what not. they told me the same thing as jeff said 1000 units PER COLOR!!! COMON!!!! plus i saw detailed pics and were not very fond of them either. the President one was neat but not worth it. the owner also told me they were geared more for the DEPT store settings to sell them in. "Macys, Sears, Kmart, and Kouls" so keep a look out there i guess. lol

Every manufacturer has some over priced models (Minichamp is definately one). Maybe lots of 1000 are too many for smaller distributors, but looks like that firm is currently geared as you guys say to larger marketers.
I remember when I co-owned a computer supply firm in Dallas. We would purchase product at a 40% to 60% discount. Some companies required we buy a plane cargo carrier full, or nothing. We couldn't sell product at 100%, as we still had to discount 10% to 20% to be competative. You have to calculate profit margins to pay overhead. Give them time to get back some developement costs, and you'll probably see a reduction in their price, or a better deal to the smaller distributors. If not, they will not last and go bust.
I remember the first Gearbox FHP CV I purchased. I paid $28 at a hobby shop in Clearwater Florida (that was in 2000). Price eventually came down. I'd expect the same for those SUVs.
I'm a policecarmodels customer, and I'd like to see you acquire rights to selling these models, and get a better lot number and price, then pass it down to me. Hey, I don't like paying $30 for the SUV, but as its a relitively rare item, I will to get at least one for conversion.
PS: Received Presidential Limo model from "thecarman2010" this afternoon (3/13/2010). Great 4 day shipping for free. Model was in excellent sealed MIB condition.

Now that you have this model, would you care to give a personal review.?? Many of us saw the model, but a "in the hands" review would be nice.

The Presidential Limo has an excellent glossy black paint job. Body appears to be clearcoated.Trim and door handles painted a chrome silver. Tampo details, crests, and licence plates crisp and very well done. Chrome details are excellent, without any flash or mold marks. Clear glass and lamps very nice. Flags and antenna also well done. All four doors open, and fit back into body without seam visible. Interior is simple, all seats represented, nice wood accents on dash and doors. Doors are very detailed, and show armored thickness. Instuments on dash chromed or painted.
Would have liked to have seen the emergency lamps in grill and tail sections. No other gripes.
Final evaluation: One excellent model.

I received mine also. I agree with the above. I was wondering why this was only 40.00 when the others on ebay from China are 100.00. I looked at the pics of the others and noticed all of the doors have closed windows where the cheaper one has open windows. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Manny's Diecast had these as coming soon on the website and the pics showed a more detailed interior. I'm guessing the $40.00 limos are a stripped down version of the more expensive models. I also remember that Manny's has the previous generation Pres. limo and the pics were of a more detailed interior.
I also ordered the Suburban. Again the exterior details are great except the front grill is all chrome, I plan on blacking mine out. The body proportions are also excellent. I hope the FRR Tahoes are like this one.

Didn't know that $100 models had rear door glass. Even with some more interior detail (there couldn't be that much, as cheapos have wood trim and Pres shield on door interior), can't beat this model at $40 and no shipping cost. Origonally saw some last year from China for $100 with a $35 shippng fee.

I have the 1/24 2001 Presidential limo and think is great. Besides the lack of antenna's its great. The interior even had carpet!

Thank You for the review CFDBASHER, I found it to be very useful. As for the additional information by SCPD, I find that to be very interesting. I assumed those to be the exact same models with the $99.00 ones simply being a "rip-off". I don't recall seeing anything like that on Mannys, but that is not to say it wasn't. I probably just missed it. It would be very interesting to review the actual differences between the two. So if anyone had an uncontrollable urge to buy the $99.00 one, or knows someone else who had an uncontrollable urge, please provide us with a comparison.
