My 1/18 lighted CVPI is draining the battery

So I'm realizing that my Lighted CVPI is draining the battery even when the lights is off, what could be a way to resolve this?

Disconnect the battery. From what I have been told some electronics will still draw from the battery even if turned off. Best way just un-snap the battery, then re-snap when you want to use the lights...
