I found this on EBAY and felt the need to share with everyone.  This person from Hong Kong is selling a blank FRR B&W, but claiming its a Massachusetts State Police unit (1 of 400), only because the base said so?  Does anyone know what's going on with this car??

Just curious  Huh

My guess, stolen from the factory! I can do the same thing changing cars with base plates - I would go with what the car is (a blank), NOT what the baseplate reads... to say the car is a MASS car JUST because the baseplate 'says so' is nonsense!! Jeff

I went and reported the item to eBay as improper and needs to be addressed. See if the listing gets pulled...some people try anything to sell stuff on there, remarkable.

These are stolen from the factories and sold to second parties in China who broker them on ebay. If you look at the sellers location it's Hong Kong. This item is quite old, and was undoubtly bits and pieces of prototypes thus the incorrect baseplate for Massachusetts on a plain black and white car. remember, the Chinese have no concept about the model they steal and sell.

I've gone rounds with ebay who, really refuses to accept my claims these are stolen. They(ebay) require a police report be filed and the theft investigated before they pull an item for reasons of claimed theft. This means I'd have to report the crime to law enforcement in China. Like that would work even if I could. Plus,  the entire country is corrupt anyway, this is the way they function. Ebay does have a program whereby if I can prove trademark violations (and I can) they'll pull the item. I've done this many times but it gets to the point where I spent way too much time policing ebay and filing complaints.

I've gotten to the point where if someone is dumb enough to buy this and pay shipping they deserve to be ripped off. Remember the old saying, a fool and their money are soon parted. For the record I despise China, it's filthy and corupt.

That's really a shame that not only do you have to worry about production, marketing...etc. and all that entails in creating a successful product, but you also have to worry about these guys over there trying to sell your products without your permission.  Just another concern to add to everything else that you have to worry about.  Just sucks!   Angry
